Somebody sent me a 1099 on QB. I followed the link to the "free trial" but there is no way to view or download the 1099.

It's great having you here in the QuickBooks Community, @scwa353575.

I'm here to help you download the 1099 form that your client submitted through QuickBooks. If you don't have a QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account yet, you'll need to sign up for one to view the form. However, since you've already signed up for an account, let me guide you through the easy steps of accessing and viewing the form in QBSE.

You can follow the steps below to view the 1099 your client sent to you. I've also added a screenshot for visual reference.

  1. Log in to your QBSE account.
  2. Go to Clients.
  3. Select View on the client who sent the 1099.
  4. Click Tax Forms.
  5. Then, print your 1099 from there.

For more information about managing 1099s in QBSE, check out this article: Fill out a W-9 and view your 1099-MISC in QuickBooks Self-Employed

If you're ready to file your taxes, refer to this article for further guidance: QuickBooks Self-Employed annual tax guide

If you have further questions about any concerns about downloading 1099, you can comment below, and we'll respond to you as soon as possible.

There is no client menu. I tried to upload a picture of the menu options in this post but I got an error message.

Hi, @scwa353575. Thanks for coming back to this thread.

I appreciate you for reporting to us that the client tab isn't available on your end. Let me help you further on this.

Here's an image reference for the Client tab available when you receive an invitation and sign up for a free trial for QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE):

Since this tab isn't available on your end after following the steps provided by my colleague, I'd recommend collaborating with your client to manually download your 1099 and email it to you.

For future reference, let me add this article in case you want to see an overview of QBSE and its features: Overview of QuickBooks Self-Employed.

You're always welcome in the Community should you have further concerns viewing 1099s in QBSE or navigating it. We'll do our best to assist.
