Question

How can I remove/hide past bin locations from inventory items?

I use Quickbooks to organize my inventory. I recently changed up the BIN locations and moved everything around. I don't want to delete all of my old BIN locations because they are now in use by new products that were moved. The issue is each product now is full of previous BIN locations from previous inventory transfers. I want to hide or delete all previous bin locations that are not currently a sales or purchase default.

Hi there, @MeharB

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the QuickBooks Community. How are you doing today?

You can always mark the bin locations as inactive. This will effectively hide the location without completely deleting it, allowing you to still access information if needed. I'm including some steps to walk you through the process below.

  1. Click on the Gear Icon and select All lists.
  2. Tap on Locations.
  3. Click on the location you want to edit or delete, then from the dropdown menu in the Action column, choose Edit or Make inactive.
  4. Hit Yes.

For more information about this process, check out Set up and use location tracking in QuickBooks Online.

Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Take care and have a good one!
