Thanks for reaching out to us, Land. It's my goal to assist you in deleting your data and starting fresh with a new QuickBooks Online (QBO) company.

Before doing so, please note that this procedure helps delete the data for one QBO company only. If you need to eliminate all or some of your Intuit data, visit our Privacy Center or check out this article: Access and manage your personal data from your Intuit Account. You'll also want to move your lists to a new company so you can reuse them after starting over.

Purging your data depends on your subscription level and how long you're using QBO.

If your books are less than 60 days old and you're subscribed to Essentials, Plus, or Advanced, you may refer to the steps below.

  1. Sign in to your QBO account as an administrator and go to this link: https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany.
  2. Enter Yes to confirm you want to delete your company file. Then, click OK.
  3. Choose your industry from the dropdown icon.
  4. Select Create accounts based on my industry. Doing so helps QBO set up your chart of accounts after wiping your data. Don't click Create an empty chart of accounts unless you've reached out to your accountant.
  5. Click Wipe data.

If you're subscribed to QBO Simple Start, and your books are beyond 60 days, you'll need to cancel your current QBO company and start a new one.

Get more in-depth information by reading this article: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, I'll share this guide if you're interested in importing data to your new QBO company file: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to swing by whenever you need additional assistance purging your QBO data. I'll be always available to offer further help. Stay safe, and have a nice day ahead.
