if the invoice date is  before the 25th of this month it doesn't go  to the next month-

Perhaps I have too many terms already?- The only box available is fixed number of days- this doesn't help for a bill due in up to 56 days.

Thank you for getting back here and for providing additional details, @theresa-integrit. It's my priority to ensure you'll be able to create a term due on the 25th day of the month for your bills. Follow along below to get this done right away.

Before we proceed, may I know the total number of terms created in your account? This to verify what's preventing you to create a new one. In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can add more than 100 terms to your lists. Here's how to check this:

  1. In your QBO account, navigate to the Gear icon.
  2. Next, click the All lists menu.
  3. Then, select Terms.
  4. From there, check the total created terms.

If you've verified that the total terms in your list are less than 100, I recommend performing some browser troubleshooting steps to determine the root cause of the issue. Let's start with accessing your QBO account using an incognito mode. A private browser will give you a clean slate to prevent web page problems. The following are the shortcut keys you can use:

  • Google Chrome: Press CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N.
  • Microsoft Edge: Press CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Press CTRL + Shift + P.

Once signed in, attempt to add a term for the 25th day again. To do so, please refer to the steps outlined by my colleagues above.

If you've successfully created one, I recommend clearing the cache of your regular browser. These are one of its components that helps the web page to load faster but sometimes it gets damaged and corrupted resulting in odd behaviors of the program. However, if the same thing happens, I suggest using another supported browser or device as an alternative. It might be that the current one your using has temporary issues with QBO.

That should do it. Once you're ready to pay bills from your vendor here's the article that will help you with the task: Record payments towards bills.

I want to hear any updates on how the steps go. Also if you have additional questions about adding terms to your account, please add a reply below. I'd be happy to assist you further. Take care always.

Let me help you create a term for "due on the 25th day of the month, @theresa-integrit

The invoice payment terms are an agreement between you and your customers regarding when invoice payments are due. The “Net” refers to the number of days before the expected payment. To create a term for "due on the 25th day of the month, we'll need to enter them in the Due in a fixed number of days field. Let me show you how:

Setting up invoice terms to be due to every 25 days end of the month can be done by going to the Company settings. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top right to get to the Account and Settings.
  2. Click the Sales menu on the left pane, then tick the Sales form content section.
  3. In the Preferred invoice terms drop-down, choose Add new.
  4. Enter 25 in the Due in fixed number of days field.
  5. Enter a name and select the Due by certain day of the month radio button, then enter 30 in the day of month box.
  6. Hit Save to complete the process.

If you need to adjust it, you can check out this article: How to Adjust Invoice Payment Terms in QuickBooks Online. Feel free to visit our Sales and customers page for more insights about managing your company's income and sales transactions.

Don’t hold back to drop a comment if you have additional questions or concerns with payment terms. I’ll be here anytime. Have a great day ahead.
