I'm thrilled to help you with this task, @valludlow. Deleting incorrect paper checks from your record and generating new and accurate ones is right up my alley. Allow me to share a comprehensive step-by-step guide to ensure a hassle-free experience.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can delete a check from the Expense Transactions list without opening the transaction.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Expenses, then choose Expenses.
  2. In the Expense Transactions list, locate the check to delete.
  3. From the Action column, select Delete from the View/Edit dropdown menu.
  4. When prompted, select Yes to confirm you want to Delete the Check.

After that, you can now proceed to create a new check. Follow the detailed steps below:

  1. Click on + New, then choose Check under Vendor category.
  2. From the Payee dropdown, select the recipient's name.
  3. Next, from the Bank Account dropdown, choose the account you want the money to come from.
  4. Fill in the remaining fields with the necessary information.
  5. Finally, select Save and Close.

There is no need for additional reconciliation steps since the incorrect check wasn't cashed or used. If you plan to print the check, you can select to print it now or later when creating it.
