How do I enter retroactive mileage and have the date not revert back to todays date?

Every time I enter the mileage for a previous month, the current date repopulates. How do I enter it for the date I need and the date not revert?

Hi there, Arlene. Let me make it up to you by ensuring you can change the date preference in your account.

You might have configured the system to automatically copy the information from the previously generated transaction. You can turn it off by going to the Automation section. Let me guide how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, select Account and Settings.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. On the Automation section, click the edit (pencil) icon.
  4. Toggle off the Pre-fill forms with the previously entered content button.
  5. Click Save and then Done.

If you're still getting the same issue after turning off the Pre-fill forms, this might be a webpage cache issue. There are times when the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, which causes some errors or unusual responses.

Let's start accessing your account using a different or private browser. You can use  any of these shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Once logged in, try to run payroll again. If it works, I recommend clearing your browser's cache. Doing so will remove the historical data and access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also switch to a different supported browser.

For QuickBooks Mobile App

If you're using an Android:

  1. Open your phone's Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps & Notifications and click on See all apps in the app Storage.
  3. Select Clear storage or Clear cache. If you don't see "Clear storage," tap Clear data.

For IOS:

  1. Open your Settings swipe down and tap Safari.
  2. Swipe down again and select Clear History and Website Data, and click it once again to confirm.

Post again if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help. Have a good day!
