How do I keep old address, but use new address for future transactions for customers and vendors?

When a customer or vendor changes their address, I enter the information on the current check or invoice and I am prompted whether I want the information reflected in past and future transactions. Is there anyway to keep the past transactions as they were and only change information for current and future transactions without having to manually enter each time?

It's basically not possible.

QuickBooks only stores the addresses on transactions if they're different than the name address at the time the transaction is recorded or edited. Otherwise, it gets and displays the current address from the name used on the transaction.

So, when you change the name's address, then all existing transactions that don't have a custom address will appear to change.
