Why are my checks for the 1099's not showing up on the profit and loss statement?

Do your checks use income or expense accounts? If so, they will appear on your P&L. If not, they will not.

We appreciate you reaching out here in the Community space, @Kaearl.

If you're referring to machines from a contractor or vendor, know that you can set them up inside QuickBooks Online (QBO) and track them for 1099. We'll gladly write down the steps to get you going:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Expenses, then select Contractors.
  3. Select Add a contractor
  4. Enter your contractor’s info, or select the Email this contractor checkbox so they can fill it out.
  5. When you're done, select Add contractor.

If you opted in for the email, wait for the contractor to fill out their info.

If you didn’t choose to send an email, here's how:

  1. Select Add next to Personal details or Bank account and enter the contractor info.
  2. When finished, select Save.

You can visit this page for more details: Set up contractors and track them for 1099s.

Also, BigRedConsulting is correct. If you used income or expense accounts for the checks, they should appear in your Profit and Loss report. If not, there's no option to modify the report to track and add them to the business report.
