Question

How do I turn off the "smart suggestion" for the subject line when sending out invoices?

I started getting a "smart suggestion" (has a blue mark next to it) subject line for messages when I send my invoices. However, I did not create or make that language and do not like it-- plus it is not my default selection. Now, instead of going to my default, it goes to this new language I did not write and requires me to have to click extra times to get to the default email subject line for sending out invoices, which is very frustrating especially since I did not activate this feature.

Is there a way to turn off this email subject line suggestion for invoices?

I would like to recommend the developers put such suggestions, if it must be added, at least not to show up as the default subject line and override the default setting.  Thank you.

I can help you submit a feedback to our product developers, @mdjd.

Smart Suggestions are designed to help optimize your QuickBooks Online invoices. Since the option to turn off this feature is currently unavailable, you can submit your feedback in the invoice page.

Here's how:

  1. First open an existing invoice or create a new one.
  2. Then, locate the Feedback button in the upper right corner beside Manage and Take Tour.
  3. Share your thoughts about the product, and then click Next to submit.

For now, please select the X or No, thanks button on the Invoice page to stop the pop-up from showing up again.

Additionally, I'm including this reference for updates in the new experience: See what's new with estimates and invoices.

Finally, this link provides guidance on how to process customer payments: Record invoice payments.
