How do we find out who is logged on to the current session of Quickbooks?

How do we know who is logged on to the current session of QuickBooks? Seems to me I heard of a way to be able to see the current users but I can't find it. I thought it might be through Messenger, but I couldn't even find Messenger on QuickBooks. When I did a search for Messenger, it said to go to File | Utilities | Enable Messenger .... but when I went to File | Utilities there was no option for anything about Messenger. I'm sure that QB must have come out with some method to see who is using a multi-user system, no?

Let me share some information about the login history of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @Deadwood Al.

 

Please know that the ability to see who logs in to the current session isn't available in QBDT. We can only track what users did while they were logged in through the audit trail. You can access this by going to the Reports menu> Accountant and Taxes> Audit trail.

 

I can see the importance of having this ability. I'd love to hear more of your insights regarding this so I recommend sending feedback to our product developers. This way, they can further review which parts of the program need enhancements and consider adding them to future updates. Please refer to the steps below:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon and click Feedback.
  2. Provide your feedback or product suggestions.
  3. Click Next to submit.

Regarding the QuickBooks Messenger, this is only available when you’re using QuickBooks Desktop in multi-user mode and sign in as Admin. In this mode, you'll notice the Messenger icon in your system tray at the bottom-right of your screen. The messenger automatically starts whenever you are logged in. Just double-click the icon to launch the tool. Refer to this article for more information: Enable and use QuickBooks Messenger.
