How to change a name as it appears on a check

Hi there,

I work in a church and one of the members asked me to change her name as it appears on checks that I print. 

I updated her name in the vendors list but the check still printed with her name, and her deceased husband's name. How do I remove his name for the next time I print her a check?

I'm here to ensure you'd be able to change the name that appears on the check when printing, @BarbC.

 

To do so, you'll need to change the name on the Print name on the check as field. Let me show you how: 

 

  1. At the top of your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) account, go to the Vendors menu 
  2. Select Vendor center.
  3. Double-click the vendor's name you want to create a check.
  4. Choose Payment Settings.
  5. In the Print Name on check as field, enter the name you want to appear in Print As.
  6. Once done, click OK.
