how to change payment status of an invoice in quickbooks from paid to write off

Recently i have write off some invoices in QuickBooks online but when i view their PDF it shows the water mark of PAID why?? It should be Written off or Bad debt. How i can change that status of invoice.

I can see the benefit of the Written-off option as status when managing uncollectibles in QuickBooks, Asma.


At the moment, there's no native way to change the status of an invoice from Paid to Write-off. When you write off bad debt in QuickBooks Online, the invoice will automatically be marked as paid. This helps ensure your accounts receivable and net income stay up-to-date.


No worries, all uncollectible amounts will appear on your Profit and Loss report under the Bad Debts expense account. You can also run an Account QuickReport to check all the receivables you tagged as bad debt.


I recognize how fit the option is for a situation like this. Thus, I recommend sending this idea directly to our Product Developer team so they can take a look and might consider it as part of the future enhancements.
