Hi @marine-berthier , how about Go to Report thenSelect Balance Sheet (not balance sheet summary). Cheers.

Welcome aboard to the Community, @marine-berthier.

I can provide some clarification about running the Balance Sheet report.

The report calculates how much your business is worth (your business's equity) by subtracting all the money your company owes (liabilities) from everything it owns (assets). If you're trying to separate liabilities and equity directly from the report, the option to do so is unavailable.

However, you can minimize the report to only view the totals and subtotals for the liability and equity (see screenshot below). You can do it by utilizing the arrow symbols within the report.

If you want to get rid of other information and only show the total for assets and liabilities, I suggest you try exporting the report to Excel. From there, you can customize the output base on what you need.

Please see the additional screenshot on how to export the report:

Additionally, here are some helpful references that you can check out about customizing reports and running the Balance Sheet report:

Thanks for your reply, but this is not exactly answering my question.

Let me explain a little bit more.

I have several QuickBooks accounts for all the entities I work for. The balance sheet report is not formatted the same way on all my QuickBooks accounts. Indeed for some entities, it is mixing the current assets and the current liabilities, the non-current assets and the non-currents liabilities and finally presenting a total balance of netted assets and liabilities. For other entities, the balance sheet report presents separately the assets and separately the liabilities. It is not netting them.

Therefore I would like to change the format of the balance sheet report so that the information is displayed the same way for all my entities. Is there any way we can modify the format of the balance sheet report ? Thanks

I appreciate you joining the thread, @DebbieStell. Running your Balance Sheet report with total assets and liabilities is my top priority today. I'll help you with pulling up your report that way.

The report has compact accounts that display your company's assets, liabilities and equity. You can always modify it to customize the information you need. I'd love to give you the right amount of information to deliver your needs as quickly as possible. For me to do that, may I know what specific report are you using? Do you run the regular Balance Sheet report or the detailed one (Balance Sheet Detail)?

You may also provide screenshots for more reference.

I've attached a screenshot from the video tutorial.  I'm attempting to record personal expenses and owner draws which led me to this tutorial. My balance sheet shows capital and reserves which is different to the balance sheet in the tutorial.
