How to download bank transactions on 2020 version

I have a 2020 Premier edition that I use once or twice a month.
I saw that QB locked out the ability to download transactions. Why?
I don't need new improvements, I don't do credit card processing, I don't have employees.

It's just me, a part-time business, creating invoices once or twice a month.

I just want to keep downloading bank and credit card transactions like I have been.

I don't need nor want monthly fees that would eliminate most if not all profits.
I have been buying QBs for the last 20 years with every 3-4 years doing it solely because QB makes me do it. As my business slows down, I'm looking for ways to cut costs, not increase them.

QB Desktop 2020 has outdated and they have disabled the bank feed feature. You can download .qbo files from your bank BUT you can't import directly into your QB Desktop. If your bank provides *.csv files, you will need to use a 3rd party tool to import it into QB Desktop. It's a $199 one time license and you can get $100 cashback to purchase the license from a partner.

If you prefer to use the bank feed feature, you should contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA and they will share another option to consider.

We appreciate your time in reaching out to us about your concern, MarioMP.

Please be aware that bank feeds will be only available on QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) versions 2021 and above. Bank feeds are no longer functional on your end due to the outdated nature of your QBDT 2020 version.

I recommend considering upgrading your QuickBooks version or transitioning to QuickBooks Online (QBO) for continued access to bank feed functionality.

For more information on QuickBooks Online, you can visit this link: About QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, I have provided a comprehensive guide on customizing form templates in QuickBooks Desktop for your future reference: Use and customize form templates.

Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns. Take care!

@Aldren18   RE: If you are using a supported QuickBooks version, you can establish an account using either Direct Connect or Web Connect.

The OP is not using a support QuickBooks version. They said they are not. Your copy/pasted post, even with all of its steps and glorious bold text, is not helpful.

They have done this for many years forcing customers to upgrade.  This should be considered an illegal business practice.  Pisses me off as the only way to continue now is to purchase a way more expensive version than what I need or go online.  I'm suprised someone hasn't started a class action lawsuit against them already.  I would gladdy be a part in that.

@Qnstom

This should be considered an illegal business practice.

I don't think so. They have mentioned it in EULA

Which QB Desktop year version do you have?
