When I get a repeat order I want to just revise the previous order with a new P.O. number, dates, ship via, pricing, etc.. But I don't want to lose the previous P.O. number in my customer's history. How do i do that?

Hi, musicman1959.

You can use QuickBooks' Recurring Transactions feature to create a template that will allow you to reuse the information from the previous customer order.

To create a recurring template:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙.
  2. Select Recurring transactions.
  3. Click New.
  4. Select the type of transaction to create, and then select OK.
  5. Enter a Template name.
  6. Select a Type: Scheduled, Unscheduled, or Reminder.

Otherwise, if you want to make any existing transaction as a base template for a repeated transaction, you can also check out this article for the detailed steps: Create recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online.

I've also added this link so you'd know how to manage the recurring template: Edit a recurring template in QuickBooks Online.
