HOW TO MAKE INACTIVE ACCOUNT

I'll help you reactivate your account in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @virgo.

Once you activate an account, let's make sure that you're signed in as a master admin of the account. If not, make sure that your user role is set to Full access permission to the Chart of accounts section. This way, you can inactivate an account in QuickBooks.

If you're not the primary admin, then I'd suggest contacting him and having your role's permission to be changed. This way, you can accomplish your task.

If you're the master admin of the account yet the Make Account Active is still grayed out, I'd suggest running some troubleshooting steps. 

Let's start by running the Verify and Rebuild Data tools. This will help find the most common issues in a company file and the rebuild tool fixes them.

If the issue persists, repair your company file using QuickBooks File Doctor.
