How to record ecommerce sales receipts

Looking for a suggestion. I have an ecommerce store (BigCommerce) I import the sales receipts using Connex for QuickBooks, works great. Problem is that my customer list is now at 33k, this is not sustainable. Although I like being able to search for a customers order, I think I will need to forgo that option.

I am thinking of creating a single customer , say BC Orders where each sales receipt comes into, so we will not be creating more customers just more sales receipts. I cant just do a daily run because of the various sales taxes.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

Greetings, @VM5025. I would like to offer my assistance in providing insights regarding the process of recording e-commerce sales receipts using one customer in QuickBooks Online.

I understand that having $33,000 customers in your QuickBooks account is not sustainable. However, you can search for each customer's name and look for the transactions associated with them.

Based on your scenario, I agree that you may create a single customer for your sales receipts. However, it is important to ensure that your taxes are accurately recorded.

Alternatively, when generating a sales receipt, you have the option not to include the customer's name. Simply ensure that you select the Save or Save and Close option when finalizing the transaction. Then it will show as Not Specified or dash (-) when running Sales reports.
