Hi ,

I am having a problem changing the rate on an invoice when I need to edit it. If I put 1.50 it will go right to 1.00 and not let me change it

Hey there, smprovisions. I know some information regarding the ability to change the rates in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QBO, if you're using the old layout, you can edit your rate within your invoice. Since you've mentioned that you're unable to do so, I suggest using other supported web browsers or private browsers to rule out any browsing history or cached files causing the problem. Here are the shortcut keys for accessing private browsers:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

On the other hand, if you're using the new invoice experience, I recommend getting in touch with our support since, as I've checked my resources, I see that there's an ongoing investigation (INV-98719) regarding this. Contacting our support will allow them to assist and include you among the impacted users. To make sure that they can add you as one of the affected users, you can mention the investigation number to them so that they can quickly locate it in their system.

Here's how:

  1. In your QBO account, select Help (?)
  2. Choose the Search tab.
  3. At the bottom of your screen, click Contact Us.
  4. Type your concern. Then click Continue
  5. You may choose CallbackAppointment, or Chat as your way to connect with us.
  6. Kindly fill out the provided field such as your First nameLast nameEmail address, and Phone number.
  7. Depending on what you choose as your way to connect with us, click CallbackSchedule an appointment, or Chat.

You may also want to learn more about the Support hours of QuickBooks to know the best time to contact them.

Yes, it's always important to blame the browser for QuickBooks bugs.
