Try opening your QBO account on any private/incognito browser.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community!

Let's perform some banking troubleshooting steps so you can connect your Bank of America account to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The Bank of America may have issues on their end that's why you're getting a timeout error when connecting it to QBO. To verify, you'll have to check with your bank's website to check for any announcements or maintenance that causing the error.

If there's nothing, you'll want to use the bank's URL when connecting it to QBO. Here's how:

  1. Copy your bank's URL.
  2. Sign in to your QBO account.
  3. Click Bookkeeping or Transactions from the left menu.
  4. Select Link Account.
  5. Enter the URL of your bank in the Search field.
  6. Follow the on-screen transaction to complete the connection.

Once you have successfully connected your bank account, QuickBooks will download the last 90 days of transactions. Then, you can categorize them to help ensure you put them into the correct account.
