I cleared my cache and tried incognito screen, but I still only get "there are no 1099 e-filings to show." How can I get a copy of the 2023 1099s I e-filed in early Jan24

My credit card was charged for the e-filing of 28 1099s, so I know they were processed, there's just no way to see the forms.

It's important to have access to your E-filed 1099s, and dealing with unexpected issues can be quite inconvenient. Allow me to guide you in the right direction to get copies of your tax forms. 

 

 When utilizing our e-file service, we make sure to promptly mail your 1099 forms to your contractors. By January 31, the forms will reach the addresses specified in their profiles. Contractors will receive an email notification once the IRS accepts the 1099s, informing them that their 1099 is now available for viewing.

 

Here's how to get a copy of the tax form:

 

  1. Log in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. Go to the Clients menu and head to the Forms tab.
  3. Check out the forms from there.

On the other hand, you can print your contractors' 1099s within QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let me show the steps to do it:

 

  1. On your QuickBooks Online account, go to the Taxes menu.
  2. Choose 1099 filings.
  3. Select View 1099 to view a PDF copy.

The problem is I cannot see the copies of the 1099s within QBO. We are the employer who processed the 1099s. I know the contractors will receive copies, but sometimes they come to me because they moved and the link QBO sends them to view the 1099 is no longer active (probably because they are trying to access it for the first time beyond the active window). I am able to see copies of my 2022 e-filings, but when I select 2023 filings, that's when I receive the "there are no 1099 e-filings." I even called QBO support and they were unable to come to a conclusion as to why they don't appear even though they were indeed filed. The QBO rep even requested the "SmartLook" feature to be able to see my screen, but still no solution. Could it be some limitation on my account? But then again I am able to see 2022's e-filed 1099s. Not sure what is going on.

There could be some delay in the 1099 posting to your QuickBooks account. I know you've already reached out to our Customer Care Team. However, I recommend contacting our support team again. They can review your account in a secure environment and further investigate why the 1099s aren't showing up. 

 

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to contact us:

 

  1. Go to the Help menu and select the Search tab.
  2. Next, click Contact Us.
  3. Then, enter a brief description of your concern and select Continue.
  4. Lastly, choose either Start a Chat or Get a Callback to start connecting with them.
