Question

I have started paying for things using my phone and Google wallet, but these transactions do not appear automatically inQB like when they used to do using my normal card?

Allow me to share some insights regarding the matter at hand, mark.

When you connect your online bank and credit card accounts, QuickBooks automatically downloads the latest transactions. However, if you've switched from your normal card to paying using your phone and Google Wallet, it's important to ensure that the account used in your Google Wallet is synced to the bank you used in QuickBooks banking.

This is because the transactions will only appear in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) if the account used in your Google Wallet is connected to your QBO.

Then, if your Google wallet is connected to you QBO Banking, then you can update to get the latest transactions in the Transactions tab. To do that, here's how:

  1.  Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  2. Select Update.

Feel free to keep working during the update. When it's finished, check the Banking menu again for the missing transaction. It's likely in the For review section.

If you still can’t find the transaction, you can check around the Banking menu by going to Transactions, then Bank transactions. Then, select the tile for the bank or credit card account you downloaded the transaction from.

Moreover, there are also other areas to check if you don't see those transactions. You can first check the For review tab. This is where QuickBooks puts recently downloaded transactions. Next, check the Categorized tab. This tells you what happens to transactions you already categorized. Finally, check the Excluded tab. If you mark a transaction as personal or a duplicate, it goes here.

Additionally, you may also want to check your account history and uncategorized accounts.

If the issue persists, as a workaround, you can manually upload them into QBO to ensure that they are recorded properly. This method provides a viable solution to maintain the accuracy and completeness of your financial records in QBO.

Feel free to ask me any further questions about transactions or any related concerns in QBO. You can post them in the comment section, and I'll be happy to assist you.
