I have uncleared transactions, should I delete them?

Hello everyone! Long story short - we availed the clean-up service for the past year and I messed it up big time.  There were credit card bill payments that were inconsistent so I recategorized and/or deleted some.  It messed up the balances and created a big difference between my bank and QuickBooks balance in the Banking tab. I re-added the deleted transactions so I can start reconciling, but I think it may have created duplicates and uncleared transactions.  Is it okay if I delete them? Thank you in advance!

Encountering issues with your banking transactions in QuickBooks Online can be frustrating since this can mess up your books. That is why we recommend reconciling your accounts every month.

 

In your case, it's best to reconcile your account and base it on your bank statement after the reconciliation. That is the time to decide whether to delete the incorrect or duplicate transactions. I'd still recommend reaching out to your accountant before making changes to avoid messing up your transactions.
