Hello ESLT. I can help troubleshoot the error you received (Error-81624) when trying to e-file your 1099 forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

This error typically occurs either due to a payment authorization failure from your bank, or an issue with QBO validating the transaction. If you didn't initiate any payment, we can try some browser troubleshooting steps to check if the problem is related to cached files.

Start by accessing your account in a private window. Here are the shortcut keys to access this mode:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

If you can e-file successfully in private browsing, clear your browser's cache fully by following these steps in this article: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

Once you're done, continue e-filing your 1099s using QBO. For the step-by-step guide, please see this article: Create and file 1099s with QuickBooks Online.

Also, you may want to check out this article as your guide in wrapping up last year's payroll and preparing for the current one with QBO Payroll: Year-end checklist for QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Managing contractors and 1099 reporting can be tricky, so please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions. I'm happy to explain concepts or workflows related to vendors, expenses, payments, or anything else in QBO. Wishing you all the best as you wrap up another tax season!
