I keep getting an error "Something went wrong. Please try later." when trying to preview 1099 forms. Is there a way around this?

I've got your back, and I'll ensure you get past the error message when trying to preview 1099 forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO), sonyap1.

 

We can log in to your account using an incognito browser. Private browser prevents saving cache and cookies that sometimes cause errors when running frequently visited websites. Here are the useful shortcut keys you can use to access one:

 

  • Ctrl+ Shift + N for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari

 

 

Once done, try creating and filing 1099s in QuickBooks Online again. If it works, return to your default browser and clear its cache. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. Switching to another compatible one to help rectify the issue.

Unfortunately, even in incognito mode I get the same error. I have tried Chrome and Edge.

Currently, we have an ongoing issue with the error message you received when reviewing the 1099 data. With that, I suggest reaching out to our phone support so we can add you to the list of affected users.

 

  1. Click the ? Help icon.
  2. Go to the Search tab.
  3. Click Contact Us.
  4. Select Ask about something else.
  5. You may type in error 185.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Select either Chat with us or Schedule appointment.
