I can provide assistance in recording tax payments in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Jodi. With this, we can keep your records accurate even with transactions made outside the application.

Before anything else, would you mind telling me what specific error you received along the way? It is to check if we have a similar issue reported on our end and provide the correct resolution.

In the meantime, we can perform troubleshooting steps that help address unusual behavior in QBO. We can access your company file and record these payments using a private window. A private window is a helpful tool for troubleshooting browser-related difficulties, as it won't preserve any history. The following are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

After recording your tax payments made outside QuickBooks, it is recommended to clear your browser's cache or cookies to avoid similar issues in the future. Alternatively, opting for one of the browsers that are supported can also be a wise decision.

Moreover, QuickBooks provides several payroll reports that offer a detailed view of your employee's gross pay, deductions, and tax data. To learn more about these reports and how to access them, you can visit this article: Run payroll reports
