I appreciate the things you've done to fix this issue, @sigsterrr. I’m here to share another way to get around your concern about printing form W-2 in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To sort it out, please ensure you have an active account in QuickBooks Payroll. Also, we can verify what role and access you have in your company file. Given the error you mentioned, I can see that you have limited access to managing payroll forms and transactions.

Here’s how you can see your role within the company:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online Company.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, and select Manage Users.
  3. Under the Users section, you can see the lists of accounts that help manage the company.
  4. You can verify what role you have in the company in the Role column.

I’ll also add this article about the different options for user roles and access permissions. From here, you can see what specific roles count toward user limits: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

I'm still here if you have additional questions or concerns about payroll. Wishing you and your business continued success.
