I hope you're all doing well. I'm currently experiencing an issue when trying to upload a CSV file from MileIQ to QuickBooks Online. After classifying my drives in MileIQ, I download the report as a CSV and attempt to upload it to QBO. However, I keep encountering an error message that says, "Oops! Something went wrong with your mileage report" in my email seconds after attempting the import.

I've followed the steps carefully, and the CSV seems to be formatted correctly, although I make no adjustments from MileIQ. Could anyone help me troubleshoot this issue? Are there any specific considerations or settings that might be causing this error?

I'll share information about the error you encountered while importing a CSV file from MileIQ to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and help you fix it.

Sometimes, local internet cache files stored in the system can cause unexpected behavior in the product. This can be the cause of why you're getting an error message that something went wrong with your mileage report even though it's in the correct format.

Let's perform some basic troubleshooting steps so you can import your MileIQ trips. Start by accessing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in a private window. This is a special mode that doesn't record the browsing activity on your local device. Simply press the following keys:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If you're able to import your MileIQ trips into QBO, then let's clear the cache in your web browser or try using a different supported browser. It could be a temporary issue with QuickBooks and the current browser that you utilize.

On the other hand, you can also manually add the trip in QBO.
