Question

I'm trying to e-file 1099's, only have 3, but keep getting the message that something went wrong. I reviewed them, everything looks ok.

Hello there, Rita. Let me share some details about e-filling your 1099s in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If you're getting the error message in step 2 or step 4 of the process, there's an ongoing investigation into this. INV-98026 and INV-98028 respectively. I recommend contacting our support team so they can add you to the list of affected users. This way, you will receive an email notification when any solution is available.

If you're getting the error in any area of the process besides the mentioned above, let's fix it by doing some browser troubleshooting steps to see if this is a browser-related issue. Let's start opening an incognito or private browser window. You can use the following keyboard shortcuts for the most popular browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Once you have opened the browser window, log in to your QuickBooks account and e-file your 1099s. If it's successful, proceed to clear your browser's cache. This process removes and fixes specific issues and helps the program run flawlessly. Additionally, you can use other devices and supported browsers to ensure everything works as expected.

Moreover, payroll subscription allows you to create and e-file unlimited 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms

Additionally, if you want to access your filed tax forms and paid tax payments, you can check out this article: View your previously filed tax forms and payments.

Let me know if you have further concerns about e-filling your 1099s. I'll be here to lend a hand. Have a great day.
