Question

I need to access a 1099 that a business put in on my behalf (independent contractor), but I don't have a mobile phone.

Thank you for reaching out about accessing your 1099, amyhanson3. I'm happy to provide some guidance on getting a copy of your tax form without needing your mobile phone.

The key is to have your employer or client send you an invitation to create an account in QuickBooks Self-Employed. If you already have a QBSE account, they can send the invite to that email address.

You can share this article with them on how to send an invite: Invite A Contractor To Add Their Own Tax Info.

If you don't have a QBSE account yet, you can sign up for a limited account specifically to access your tax documents. After that, follow these steps to access your 1099:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. Go to the Clients menu.
  3. Select the Forms tab.

This is where you can view, print, or download your 1099 that was sent to you by your client.

This will allow you to view and download your 1099 without needing your mobile device, amyhanson3. Let me know if you have any other questions! I'm here to help get you access to your tax info.
