Welcome to the Community!

QuickBooks Online (QBO) makes the process of filing your 1099s seamless for you. It helps you prepare your forms effortlessly by using the information in your account. I'm happy to walk you through the process.

First, you'll need to prepare and verify your 1099 forms. Once that's done, you can go ahead and e-file your 1099s. Here's how:

  1. Once you've prepared your 1099s, simply select the e-file option and verify your 1099s.
  2. Then, follow the on-screen steps to complete your 1099 e-file. If you're prompted, go ahead and enter your billing info. You'll also have the chance to review each contractor's 1099, making sure everything is just right.
    • If you're asked, choose the delivery option for your contractor's copies. If you don't see this option, it means you've already given your contractors online access to their 1099s when you added them to QuickBooks. If you notice an incorrect email address, update it in QuickBooks. Then, go back through the 1099 e-file process again.
