Question

I switched company to QBO but still need access to account information that didn't migrate from Desktop. What are my options?

Thought we had one year's access to Desktop but now cannot get in with message that my subscription has expired. Any suggestions?

You're correct, Clerk. When your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) subscription expires, you will have view-only access for one year. In your case, you contact our live support team or download a trial version as a workaround.

Since you're unable to access your account and need to retrieve some information, I recommend contacting our live support team for further assistance. Our experts have the necessary tools to help you obtain a copy of your data.

You can reach them through your QuickBooks Online account or by visiting this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/contact.

If you have saved a copy of your company file, you can download a trial version of QBDT to access your historical data.

Once downloaded, you can now restore the file. Here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks, then click the File menu.
  2. Select Open or Restore Company.
  3. Restore the file based on its file type.

Now that you're just starting with QuickBooks Online, you can
adjust your homepageThis feature allows you to configure the layout of your dashboard so it displays the information most relevant to your business needs and personal preferences.

If you need further assistance managing your account or using the QuickBooks Online features, we're here to help.

@clerk11

Which QB Desktop year version and country version? US version or else?

You can use the trial version to access your historical data for good.
