I tap "insert break" in the app and nothing happens

When the guys were out of range and were not able to clock out for lunch, I would like to add a break in without adding and editing multiple time stamps. The app has this nice feature where you can "insert a break" but it just does nothing for me. I have updated the app.

We appreciate you coming to the Community with your question about inserting breaks. 

 

To clarify, did you update the app after this occurred or before, and were you able to tap this feature before with no issues? 

 

In the meantime, let's do some additional troubleshooting to help narrow down the cause: 

 

  • Sign out and then back into your account on the app
  • Turn your device off and then back on

 

Also, are you using an Android or Apple device? 

 

We want to ensure you get this resolved as soon as possible. I'll be waiting for your response!

To clarify, I did update the app before and after this occurred, and I have never been able to tap this feature with no issues

 

I have completed all the additional troubleshooting.

 

I am using an Apple device.

Thank you for reaching back out and letting me know you performed those troubleshooting steps for inserting breaks. 

 

Since you've never been able to use the insert break feature, let's make sure the feature is on within your QuickBooks Online account. Here's how: 

 

  1. Sign into your QBO account. 
  2. Click Time. 
  3. Choose Assignments. 
  4. Tap Break Preferences. 

 

Or if you're using QuickBooks Time, use these steps: Go to Feature add-ons, and then Breaks. 

 

Make sure the feature is on and all settings like, break rules, automatic breaks, are set up properly. After that, try to insert a break again. Review this guide for more details on how to perform these actions if need be: Set up and manage breaks for QuickBooks.
