Question

I use the Copy an estimate to a purchase order feature - but does this link the estimate to the purchase order? I want to know which estimate the purchase order was for.

Looking at the completed purchase order, I can see which customer it was for, but not which estimate.  When the estimate/invoice gets paid it would be useful to know the PO that is linked to it.

We understand how relevant and convenient it is to track which estimate is linked to your purchase orders, Candice.

The estimate won't be linked to the PO when using the Copy and estimate to a PO feature in QBO. Thus, the option to know which estimate the PO was for is unavailable in the program. As a workaround, we can manually enter descriptions or memos on your POs to identify which proposals are connected to them. This way, you'll able to keep track of and manage these transactions in your account.

In the meantime, we recommend sending this valuable idea to our product engineers. They'll consider your suggestion and will work on its progress to include them in future product enhancements.

Here's how to submit feedback:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
  2. Enter your product suggestions or feedback.
  3. Then, click Next to submit.
