I would like to create a QB online backup file to a thumb drive

I'll ensure you can create a QuickBooks Online backup file on the thumb drive.  

If you're using QuickBooks Online Advanced, we can save a backup of your company so you'll have a copy of your data. I'd be delighted to guide you on how: 

1. Go to Settings ⚙.
2. Choose Back up company.
3.  Sign in to your Intuit account, then select Authorize to proceed.

If you're using lower versions of QBO, there isn't an option to send a backup file to a flash drive, but we can export your data from QBO to QuickBooks Desktop and back up your accounting data from there. In case you don't have one, you can download a trial version of QuickBooks Desktop.

If you are not using QBO Advanced, you can use a backup restore app and/or TP Exporter for Online.
