Should I close the checking or can I continue using it?

Hi there, katie. Let's go over some details to help you in managing your QuickBooks Checking account.

When you sign up for QuickBooks Payments and QuickBooks Checking via QuickBooks Online (QBO), your Payments account is automatically linked to your QBO account.

If you want to start a new QBO account, you can still use and connect your existing QuickBooks Payments and QB Checking account.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Gear ⚙ icon, then Account and Settings.
  2. Select Payments tab.
  3. In the Existing account section, select Connect or Link Merchant Service.
  4. Pick the QuickBooks Payment account you want to connect to. Then hit Connect.
  5. Review the account info and make sure it's accurate. If everything looks good, select Connect.
  6. When the connection is finished, sign out and sign back into QuickBooks Online.

I've added this article for more information: Connect your QuickBooks Payments account to QuickBooks Online.

If you'd like to know more about QuickBooks Checking, you can use this link as a reference: Learn more about QuickBooks Checking.

Let me know if you have other questions or concerns about managing your accounts. I'll be here to assist. Take care!

Ok. Thank you. That answer was a bit of overkill, but I get it.

In short, if I close the QuickBooks  Online Account, the checking account stays active  and I just have to relink it to the new account. Is that right?
