I've got your back, and I'll ensure you can file your 1099 forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO), mackenzie_six.

It's possible that the pages are not loading correctly due to a browser-related issue or an outdated cache. To determine the root cause, let's perform some troubleshooting steps together. Let's start by accessing your account in a private window. This will allow QBO to start with a clean slate and may help resolve the issue. Here are some keyboard shortcuts to access an incognito window on supported browsers:

  • Ctrl+ Shift + N for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari

Then, try filing your Federal 1099s in QuickBooks Online again. You can check out this article for more details about preparing and filing your Federal 1099s: Create and file 1099s with QuickBooks Online

If it works, return to your default browser and clear its cache. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. Switching to another compatible one to help rectify the issue.

Also, we can check the status of your e-filed 1099 that can be viewed under Filing status. It can either be one of the following:

  • Not Submitted: You haven't e-filed the forms with the IRS. Thus, you can keep revising it as needed.
  • Submitted: You have e-filed the form to the IRS. This can also be shown as Sent on your screen. If you need to revise it, you'll need to file a manual amendment.
  • Received by IRS: The IRS has received your form. They could be currently processing it or have already approved it. You'll receive an email confirmation approximately a week after the IRS accepts and confirms submissions.

As of the moment, you just need to wait for the IRS to receive your form since you've already e-filed and submitted your 1099 form. For future reference, read through: 1099's FAQ's. It has answers to commonly asked questions and contains helpful tips in preparing the 1099's.

I'm adding this IRS article for further details about 1099-NEC: Instructions for Forms 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC. It contains the complete set of instructions and the latest information about the form.

Let me know if you have other concerns or questions about 1099s. I'll be around to help.
