Hello,

For the past year I've been importing a spreadsheet with our list of products via the "Import Data" option QuickBooks offers. Since the last update about a week ago I been having problems uploading a spreadsheet with 400 rows. I can only do 200 rows at a time. Before the update I didn't had this issue.

Thanks for following up with the Community, Kevin.

Let me provide information about importing products and services into QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To begin with, the new spreadsheet import feature only allows you to import up to 150 rows at a time, while the old feature allows you to import up to 1,000 rows at a time. However, since you're only able to do 200 rows at a time, I recommend trying to sign in to QuickBooks using an incognito or private browser, or try exploring other browser troubleshooting options to verify if the issue is related to your browser. Then, try uploading or importing the data again.

You can use the following keyboard shortcuts based on the type of browser you are using:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

To import your spreadsheet using the old batch up to 1,000 rows at a time, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. At the upper right corner, select Settings, then choose Import Data.
  3. Select Products and Services.
  4. Depending on where your data is located, either upload an Excel or CSV file from your computer or connect to your Google account to upload from Google Sheets.
  5. Map your information. Your Field represents the headers on your spreadsheet. From each dropdown menu, select the one that matches a field in QuickBooks Online and select Next.
  6. Check for any invalid cells highlighted in red and correct them in your spreadsheet before importing again.
  7. To replace details of existing items in your account, select Overwrite all values for each product or service.
  8. Double-check everything and select Import.
