In the Customer window, can you use the keyboard Enter key to lookup a customer?

Hi –

In QuickBooks when we lookup a customer, it seems that after we type in part of a customer name and hit Enter on our keyboard, nothing happens. Instead, we have to use our mouse to click the magnifying glass icon for QuickBooks to perform the search.

Is there a way, we can just click Enter on our keyboard instead of having to use the mouse to click the magnifying glass icon?  If so, how?

To view the Customer screen in QuickBooks:

Go to menu bar Customers –> Customer Center –> Type in part of a customer name –> Hit Enter or click magnifying glass icon

(If it matters, we use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.)

It's great to see you posting today, Dav!

You just missed one step. After typing the customer's name or part of the name, you'll want to press your Tab key to highlight the Magnifying glass icon and then press the Enter key.

Check out the article about keyboard shortcuts in QuickBooks Desktop for your additional reference.

Let me know if you have more questions about searching for customers.
