Incorrect dates

We send recurring invoices to customers using Square. We sync Square transactions in QB online. Most of the transactions come into QB just fine but occasionally a transaction will come into QB with the wrong date of the payment, sometimes by many months.

We have talked with Square and QB about this and they each point the finger at the other.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I've seen this issue before when syncing Square with QuickBooks Online. The problem usually happens because Square records transactions based on when they're processed, while QuickBooks might adjust the date based on bank settlements.

 

Look at the transaction details in Square and compare them with the deposit date in QuickBooks. Sometimes, delayed settlements or adjustments on Square’s end can cause date mismatches.

 

Also, if you're using a third-party integration to sync Square with QuickBooks, try disabling it temporarily and manually importing a transaction to see if the issue persists. If Square and QuickBooks are pointing fingers at each other, I'd recommend testing a direct CSV export from Square to see if the transaction dates match.
