Increase SALE price of an Assembly when one of the BoM items increases in SALE price
I'm looking to increase the sale price of an assembly item automatically or by batch when we increase the sale price of one of it's bill of material items.
Our company sells inks in both raw colours and mixed colours. Our price list for the customers only contains the raw colours , as the pricing for our mixed colours is calculated by the percentage of the formula of all the required colours. We use a simple spreadsheet to calculate the initial price when adding a new formula. We add an additional line item to the sales orders to cover the labour and other costs involved. Our unit of measure is in KG/LBS in case that's needed and we use Enterprise.
For example, we sell Red ($1), Yellow ($2) and Blue ($3) as standard inventory items and Orange ($1.50) and Green ($2.50) as assembly items (50/50 mix in this case).
Is there a way to automatically or batch increase the sale price of the assembly items by the same amount that the raw colour does? Relative to the formula of course. Say we increase the sale price of Red from $1 to $2, can we update the sale price of Orange to $2 without doing it manually?
We have thousands of formulas, so we've always done a blanket increase by x% across everything with our previous software to avoid the hassle of manually calculating the pricing increase based on the formula.
I can't seem to find anyone else asking this, so apologies if this has already been answered previously. I also don't know what the term for this could be as I'm not an accountant, so that could be why I haven't found anything.
Thank you for your help.
