I am using Intuit Data Protect with Quick Books Plus Annual Subscription Premier.  Does Intuit Data Protect backup my attachments folder?

I appreciate your diligence in ensuring the safety of your important data, Dan. Let me further share with you some information about Intuit Data Protect and its ability to back up your attachments folder.

Yes, Intuit Data Protect does back up your attachments along with your QuickBooks files. However, whether your attachment folder is backed up depends on how you set up your Intuit Data Protect.

If you’re unsure whether your attachments folder is included in the backup, you can check your backup settings to see if you added the folder for backup. Here’s how you can do that:

  1. Open Intuit Data Protect.
  2. Select Change backup settings.
  3. On the Select QuickBooks Data window, view the files and folders to see if your attachments folder is included.
  4.  For Entire PC Users, after choosing Continue, verify whether your attachments folder is included in the backup.

If you find that your attachments folder is not included, you can easily add it from your backup set.

I have Data Protect and when I try to do a restore because my other computer crashed it will not show me any of my backups after 2022.  I know the last successful backup I did was on 8/11/24 however I have been on the phone with Intuit for over a week and "they see" my backup on their side but cant seem to get them to show when I try to do a restore from data Protect.  I really need this fixed ASAP

PLEASE HELP I AM DESPERATE!!!!

Thanks for sharing your concerns, @ButchieOil.

It sounds like you may be logged into the wrong Intuit Data Protect account. It's not uncommon to see users use the wrong Intuit account sign-in and not see their current backups.

Often times customers will have multiple users in the Company file. Most of those users have Intuit accounts. With that said, you'll want to ensure that you're using the same Intuit account that was used for the IDP setup.

I recommend contacting our support team again and ensuring you're using the correct sign-in information. If you are and our team can see your back up as you mentioned, this issue may need to be escalated.

You can use the link I'm including below to connect with our team directly:

Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Have a good one!

I have tried all of this numerous times with NO HELP or resolution.

I need that file that I know said successful with a green check mark. When it fails it shows FAILED and a red X, pretty impossible to confuse them.

I keep saying that it said a different name and I am being told no its the only one I have. I am at my wits end with 10 months of trying to obtain my data that I pay to have additional backups for.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME FIND THIS!!!

Week #3 and still no back up file.  I have done at least 20 screen shares with multiple reps uninstall reinstall...

my issue is that the computer I was working on HAS CRASHED but I am 100% certain that the back up 8/11 was successful and yet it is no where to be found.

I was never contacted in 1-2 days.  I have been in constant contact with Intuit and still no resolution.  This is so unfair and 10 months of not having a company file is unbearable to say the least.  This is completely insane and not sure why a subscription is being paid for when you really need it to work it didn't.

I still need this back up ASAP.  It has been 10 LONG months with out the company file that a backup was done 100%!

Please help me. Thank you!
