Hello All,

I have POS 19.0 and I just powered down my computer and now every time I try to log in it gives me a "Invalid Product Number" and shuts down.  I have used this setup for years and never had this problem and now that Intuit is no longer supporting POS I dont know where to turn.  Please Help!!!

Thanks

Tom

Good evening, @Fast Bicycle

Welcome to the Community!

I'm here to assist you in getting through this 'Invalid Product Number' prompt message in your QuickBooks Point of Sale. Here are the possible reasons why you get an Invalid Product Number error:

  • The POS Entitlement folder contains compromised files.
  • An incorrect product code has been used to install QuickBooks Desktop POS.
  • You're not logged in to Windows as an admin.

Have you checked all three of these reasons? I'll be waiting for your response!

Hello Candice!!!!  Thanks for the reply.

  • The POS Entitlement folder contains compromised files:  I have downloaded the QB Tool Hub and had it check the Entitlement folder but it hasnt worked.  What else can I do?
  • An incorrect product code has been used to install QuickBooks Desktop POS.  The POS 19.0 has bee working since I purchased it about 5-6 years ago with the same product code so I dont think this is the problem
  • You're not logged in to Windows as an admin.  I checked Your Info on Windows and right below it shows that I am admin, do not know of another way to check.

Please help as I am losing business since 11:30 this morning with no access to our POS system, also thank you for your help!!!

We are still using QB POS for a few things. Unfortunately today, We had an accidental power outage to our computer. When I turned it back on QB would not open fully due to "invalid product code". I tried rebooting. Is this something QB has done all of a sudden?
