Inventory report shows items with quantity on PO but there are no open PO's with the item

Hi it's me again, the lady with the QB Enterprise gremlins and they are at it again.

I ran an inventory report to see what I needed to order. There is a column showing quantity on PO (meaning on open PO not yet received) and I have a few dozen items that say that but there are no open POs with them. It is really messing me up and I have to keep going out to the shop asking them to do spot inventory counts super wasting their time.

I can see how you want QuicBooks to work seamlessly the way it used to, Kim.

The way you relay the information, and confirmed that QuickBooks doesn't have an open invoice showing, it looks like this is an odd behavior. To resolve this, you can use the verify and rebuild tool to locate the most common issues and at the same time fix them.

To run the verify utility tool:

  1. Under QuickBooks File menu, select Utilities, then choose Verify Data.
  2. Select OK when you see the message "QuickBooks detected no problem with your data". You may continue using your company file.
  3. If Verify finds an issue with your data, you will be prompted to Rebuild Now or View Errors. Select Rebuild Now.

To run the rebuild utility tool:

  1. From the QuickBooks Utilities menu, choose Rebuild Data.
  2. Select OK if you receive a prompt to back up your company file.
Note: Your computer may display the message "QuickBooks is not responding". However, as long as you can see your mouse cursor move, Rebuild is still ongoing. Wait for it to complete.
  3. Select OK when you get the message Rebuild has completed and proceed with the next step
