Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, TrickyT. Let me share insights on how the new interface works and ensure you can use the Deposit field for your sales transaction in QuickBooks Online.

We’re releasing a new invoice layout for QBO that can help you land jobs, keep work moving, and get paid faster. However, there are classic invoice features that are currently unavailable in the new experience. This includes the Deposit field and that's the reason you're unable to see it on your end.

I suggest reverting to the old layout so you can see the mentioned field above in your invoices. Before doing the process, please be aware that you may not be able to opt back into the new interface once you switch to the old one.

Here's how to revert:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Go to the +New icon, then click on Invoice.
  3. Click the Old layout in the top right corner.
  4. Choose the Switch layout button.
  5. Select a specific reason that made you switch layouts.
  6. Click Leave and submit.

Lastly, refer to this article if you need steps on how to record partial payment for an invoice: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

It'll always be my pleasure to help if you have any other concerns besides working with the invoice in QuickBooks. Please let me know by clicking the Reply button and leaving a comment below. Stay safe!

Thank you. I tried all suggestions and the deposit field is not showing even in different browsers. Any other suggestions?

Glad to see you back in the Community, @1231 4608 8474 559.

My colleague already updated her answer. You may want to follow the workaround suggested to be able to use the Deposit field on your invoices.

Our goal is to provide our clients with a top-notch product, and it would also be great if it had a deposit field in invoices for a more accurate recording.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
