Invoices - How do I make a header field searchable?

I need to be able to search a field on our invoices and it does not show up as an option in the advanced search list. I renamed the "S.O. No" field as "DELIVERY TICKET" and need to be able to search for those numbers. As it is, I can find no option to do that. 

 

If that is not an option at all, then I need a solution to be able to search for those numbers

You can search for invoices using the Find Invoices feature.

 

Here's how:
 

  1. From your QuickBooks home screen, go to Create Invoices.
  2. Use the Find button.
  3. Click Advanced to see all available search options.
  4. Enter any necessary information.
  5. Select Find.

 

You may also find some transaction-based reports which could help you locate the data you're looking for. I'd recommend reviewing our Understand reports article for a list of reports available with your subscription. You also have the option of using QuickBooks Advanced Reporting.

I know how to search invoices...lol...I'm needing to search a specific field that is not showing up in advanced search.

    I understand the convenience of having the option to search a specific header field in your invoices, @tracemetals. We aim to serve you best by improving our QuickBooks products. I'm here to share the steps to submit a feature request to make it available.

     

    We strive to deliver high-quality service to our users, and our utmost priority is ensuring our product is user-friendly. With this, I suggest sending your feedback to our Product Development Team so they can review it and consider implementing it in the future. Please know that changes are also based on how popular a specific feature request is. Here's how you can submit feedback:

     

    1. Click the Help menu located at the top.
    2. Select Send Feedback Online, then click Product Suggestion.
    3. Type in your feedback or feature request.
    4. Click the Send Feedback button.

     

    In the meantime, you can run the Transaction List by Customer report and include the S.O. # in your columns to show your invoices with delivery ticket numbers.
