Welcome to the Community forum, @tfatsi. You're in the right place. I'm going to share insights and help you print out the 1099s and 1096 tax forms from previous years.
To access your previously e-filed 1099s in QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can follow the steps below:
Go to Taxes. Then, select 1099 filings.
Choose View 1099 to view a PDF copy.
On the other hand, form 1096 isn't available. To get a copy of this form, follow the steps in this article: Print your 1099 and 1096 forms.
If you don't see your previously filed 1099 and 1096 forms, we recommend contacting Payroll Support to get a copy and print it out.
I appreciate you clarifying, @tfatsi. I'll be glad to help retrieve and print your 1099 and 1096 forms from previous years.
Since you manually filed your forms, the 1099 and 1096 from previous years are unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). However, we can still retrieve the information from our system by generating the 1099 Transaction Detail Report. It displays the data of each check paid to vendors or contractors with additional filters to set the date period.
To do that:
Go to Reports.
Search for the 1099 Transaction Detail Report.
Under the Report period, filter the date. Then, Run report.
To obtain your previously filed 1099 and 1096 forms, I recommend reaching out to the IRS. They have the necessary tools to provide copies of the filed forms upon request.
Furthermore, if you've noticed incorrect amounts or one of the contractors you set up in QBO is missing, here's an article as your guide to resolve this issue: Fix missing contractors or wrong amounts on 1099s.
The Community is open anytime to entertain queries about printing your previously filed forms. Just leave your follow-up question below, and I'll respond promptly. Stay safe and have a nice day ahead!
