Issue w/ Templates

Hello All

Having an issue where my template is designed, but whenever the final product is printed or saved QB seems to "override" the template code I guess. Please see the attached pictures. In the layout designer, I have the colors, fonts, backgrounds colors, etc. that I want. When I exit the designer, the preview and image keeps being overridden with the second picture. It is across all of my invoice templates. I have started over with a blank invoice instead of duplicating the final design and the same problem happens. I can change the background color in the designer and it shows, but when I exit the same problem happens. The font changes do go through though. It appears to be a software issue internally, like a corrupted file or something. I have been using QB for 8 years now and am no rookie, but still am stumped on this. This is QB Desktop Enterprise 2018,

Hey there.

First off, I'd like to appreciate you for exhausting your resources to be able to make your invoice template work properly. No worries, I'm here to make sure we'll be able to isolate this issue and make you get back to work.

According to your scenario, yes, there might be an issue with your company file's data that's causing the issue. With this, I'd recommend running the Verify and Rebuild utility. This tool scans data issues within the company file and self-resolves them.

Beforehand, make sure your QuickBooks Desktop is up-to-date. This way, you always have its latest feature and fixes.

Note that the following troubleshooting steps may or may not work on your end since you're using an unsupported version of QuickBooks Desktop.

Follow the steps below on how to verify data:

  1. On the top menu, click File.
  2. Choose Utilities.
  3. Select Verify Data.
  4. Click OK when QuickBooks doesn't detect any problem with your data.
  5. If Verify finds an issue with your data, you'll be prompted to Rebuild Now or View Errors.
  6. Click Close or View Errors and take note of the specific error message.

Next, here's how to rebuild data:

  1. On the top menu, click File.
  2. Choose Utilities.
  3. Select Rebuild Data.
  4. Click OK if you receive a prompt to back up your company file.
  5. Click OK when the rebuild has been completed.
  6. Run Rebuild Data again to make sure there's no error.

Moreover, I've added an article you can review to help you manage and customize form templates: Use, duplicate, and import templates in QuickBooks Desktop.

Always know that you can post again here in the Community forum if you need additional assistance with regard to form templates in QBDT. Take care.
