Intuit,

I am going to start use Desktop Warehouse Manager APP (v1.3.0.451) with TC20 (US Version). But One thing very confused me. My company has a lot products come with ITF-14 barcode. How to setup my TC20 to work with the app?

With TC20 build-in scanner,
When I do pick/receive, if barcode format is ITF-14, TC20 never beep. Just like it never exist. If product with UPC code, will beep. I already turned on interleaved 2of5 setting as Zebra ITF-14 requirement and used DWDemo to test it, TC20 works fine.

With a BT scanner connect to TC20,  your app works perfectly.

So, your app can not work with TC20 build-in scanner (default setting but turn on interleaved 2of5). How to config it?

This is my situation.

Hi it_shws,

TC20 is compatible with Warehouse Manager App. You'll want to make sure you've correctly set up your mobile scanner device with the app manager. Let me guide you through how to get around this.

To pair your device with QuickBooks company file:

  1. In QuickBooks, click Edit and then Preferences.
  2. Click Items & Inventory. Then, click the Company Preferences tab.
  3. Click Advanced Inventory Settings.
  4. On the Site Operations tab, click Add. QuickBooks gives you a passcode.
  5. On your mobile device, launch the scanner/app, then enter the passcode.
  6. Click Link, then Yes to confirm.
  7. A success message appears indicating that the scanner is now linked to your company file.
  8. Click Next. Then, continue with setting up a pickers.

For more information about using the Warehouse Manager App, please check this handy article: Set up and use Warehouse Manager App

Once done, try using the scanner again.

Thx 4 quick reply.

Before I am in this situation, I already paired TC20 with my company file and everything is thru with build-in scanner except ITF-14.

With same device, ITF-14 can go thru via a BT scanner to finish picking / receiving.

With same device, ITF-14 do can be decode and tested via DWDemo and other app, like ZELLO.

From my opinion,  it looks warehouse manager app directly controls the build-in scanner and ignored ITF-14.

BTW,  I do reboot the device to verify this and problem still there.

Thanks for getting back, @it_shws.

I'd like to make this work for you, however, to isolate this further, we'll need to check this using extra tools. I recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Merchant Service Center so they can verify why ITF-14 code is being ignored.

I'm sure this will be taken care of. Should you need related articles in the future, please feel free to visit our help site: Help articles for QuickBooks Enterprise Suite.

Keep me posted if you need anything else or if you have other questions about the warehouse app. I'll be here to help.

Hi @it_shws .

Did you manage to find a solution for this issue? Its been 4 years now and it doesn't seem like they have fixed the issue since I'm experiencing the exact same situation nowadays.

This is really disappointing from Intuit, such a basic functionality necessary for operating smoothly and they still can't figure it out.

Hello there, @Johny1.

Let me share some insights about using the ITF-14 barcode scanner in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

I understand the importance of using an ITF-14 barcode scanner. For now, our program is compatible with certain Zebra barcode scanners, which is why some devices may not work properly when it comes to inventory tracking.

See this article to learn more about the supported barcode scanners in QuickBooks Desktop: Setup and use the Warehouse Manager in QuickBooks Desktop mobile.

As an alternative, I recommend looking for any third-party application that can add a barcode image to your sales invoice. You can use this link to find one: QuickBooks apps.

I also recommend visiting our Resource Hub website. This will give you resources and videos on how to manage your QuickBooks Desktop account, income, expenses, inventory, and reports.

You can always notify us if you require further assistance in setting up the barcode. Have a good one.
