Job Costing & Class Tracking

It believe Class tracking exists in all desktop versions.  I know Job Costing exists in the Enterprise version.  As far as I understand, it does not exist in the Accountant version.

Does Premier Plus allow both Job Costing and Class tracking?

The Desktop comparison page ( https://quickbooks.intuit.com/desktop/ ) seems to indicate it does under Industry Specific Features.

I know it's important to have the Job Costing and Class Tracking features in managing your transactions, registration1. I'd be delighted to share some details about these two.

Job Costing and Class tracking features are both available in Premier Plus and Accountant Desktop. I'd suggest checking out these articles to learn how to set them up. There, you can also see the sample class by industry:

Also, you can browse these articles to see the comparison between the Premier Plus versions. This helps you select the program that suits your business needs: Plans & Pricing.

Additionally, I've included these articles that'll give you a snapshot of your business. There, you can easily monitor your transactions in QuickBooks:

How is job costing done in QBO?  My time (which is recorded in QBT) is not pulling into the project report.  Is there a step by step process to do this or is it even possible in QBO?

Thank you

Hey there, @NeedSomeGuidence. I'm here to help you with pulling up a report.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the Project feature works like Job Costing in QuickBooks Desktop. This feature helps you to be organized and track all moving parts.

You’ll need to turn on the Project feature first, so you’ll be able to create a project and pull up the report you need.

To do so, here's how:

1. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Account and Settings.

2. Select the Advanced tab.

3. Find the Projects section and click Edit to expand it.

4. Turn on the Use project financial tracking.

5. Hit Save.

After that, please proceed to Step 2 of this article to set up and create projects in QBO. This contains steps that will guide you along the process.

Once done, you can now pull up a report by following these steps:

1. Go to Projects on the left pane.
2. Double-click the project name.
3. Under Project reports, select the report.
4. Filter your desired date and click run the report.

I've also included some articles that help you streamline the reporting process in QuickBooks:

Drop me a Reply below if you have further questions about utilizing the Projects feature, along with reports. I'll always be here to assist you. Take care.

@registration1

The feature is available on QBD Premier. Fyi, you can still purchase a one time license of QB Desktop Premier 2021 or Accountant 2021/2022.
