Question

Landed cost won't add to the bill if one particular item is on it, otherwise it works in all other instances.

Typically Landed Cost adds to a bill with no issues for me, but I noticed that it will not add to the bill if one specific inventory assembly items (that I purchase from a vendor) is on that bill. I can unselect the item when applying the landed cost, and it will add just fine, but if that item is selected it will act like it is going to save the landed cost, but then not post to the bill once it is saved. I don't know if I set the item up incorrectly, I have attached a screen shot of how the item is set up. Please advise if anyone has any ideas as to what the glitch between this specific item and our Landed Cost is. Thank you!

When Landed Cost fails to add to a bill specifically involving one particular inventory assembly item, there can be several underlying causes. I'll provide the steps you need below, User.

Here is a detailed approach to identify and potentially fix the issue:

  1. Go to List, Item List.
  2. Locate and open the specific inventory assembly item in question.
  3. Ensure the item is set up correctly as an inventory assembly and not mistakenly set up as another type. Confirm that all necessary fields, such as the cost and account settings, are filled out correctly.

Then, remove all descriptions for items on the bill. Deleting the descriptions in this context won't affect any other screens.

Alternatively, you can review your item descriptions for any non-standard characters, excluding periods or dashes, as these characters could be causing the problem.

Once you've set up landed cost, you can calculate the landed cost for any bill you add inventory and shipping items to.
